my research proposal got postphoned to next friday because everyone was complaining about the workload, so yayness!but i still need to work on it heap heaps. i meant to do all those holidays posting but its too much work, too many photos and my internet is lagging now.
anyway, as usual zy and i were skyping and he came across an article that said theres this machine that can make diamonds instantly, entering instructions into a computer. he say you can't call them fake diamonds because they are still made of carbon pressed under high pressure, just that they are made in a machine. for the same price, he can probably get a man-made diamond for double the carat. and he say the diamond cartel people are marketing things and the so called 'a diamond is forever' is just so that vulnerable gullible consumers like me will buy the au naturale diamonds.

I told him natural diamonds are still better because of the process they are being made from, which is what makes them precious. Like imagine atoms being pressed together for hundreds of years to become one small little shiny stone. its a big difference from this man made diamond being made from a computing programme right. its the romance involved, the idea behind how you come to own something mother nature took so long to nest. and like how theres so many rocks, sedimentation, sand in the world, chance made this group of carbon atoms segregate to become a brilliant little stone.
but zy say the process doesn't matter, the end result is the same. the process doesn't make natural diamonds dazzle more than manmade ones, so process won't matter, so we shouldn't be victims of marketing and he say i will not be able to tell the difference anyway if he got me a man made one and conveniently forget to tell me so.
see now if i do get any more bling bling from him, i will still be happy, but at the same time, paranoid!!!!!
boys!!! conveniently, the people who developed those machines happened to be men too. they just don't get it do they???!?
ps: i din know i am such a die hard romantic
