t'was a eventful weekend. on friday the girls came over to my place to make dinner, we did the math 5 people means 5 dishes.
vivian,yii and yiwei/kim w her burmese curry chicken/prep work

vegetable stew/curry chicken/szechuan mala tofu/baked fish/fishcake soup

group pics!

vivian with a mouthful of very numbing mala todu/me with the meatball i made from scratch with mincemeat and my mouth was full ok, my face is not that fat hor
initially we thought it was impossible to finish so much food. but we practically inhaled the food and walaa within 30min the food was all gone, except for the mala tofu which numbs us so much it should be called numbing tofu. apparently this is the type of appetite u get from 5 girls whos been living on instant noodles for 2wks because of the midterms.

we r happily fed girls.

because it was a friday night, and friday nights are most dangerous because that's when the unemployed people get their dough from the govt and they splurge them all on alcohol and you have a street full of drunkards. kim was staying in my place so we walked everyone home.
on the way home near rundle mall, (which if u remember is the mall where one girl was stabbed by a drunkard and the stabber was yet to be found and it was the day i walked along the same path as the girl and i was just an hr earlier than her which meant that the girl that have been stabbed could be me) we saw something that made us feel v safe.
Policemen on white stallions! the picture was blur because the stallions were just galloping by. So cool la! by then it wasn't that cool after we nearly walked into a pile of horse poo. but still, it was a spectacular sight.

kim stayed overnight at my place because we were going to Victor Harbour with the people from the buddhist temple early on saturday. v early. almost died trying to wake up. but still it was worth it. victor harbour is not called the most popular tourist spot in south australia for nothing! i've been there b4 but since the trip was heavily subsidised by the temple i went for it anyway.

flowers by the harbour!

the long trail leading to granite island, which literally is full of granite.

winter sonata wannabe/yii yiwei and me/us again/winter sonata wannabe2

onboard granite island!

all the rocks of the world
and this is my fave picture of the day! victor harbour looks gorgeous in this photo! note the waves on the sea. v v nice.

after the granite island hike, we went back to have icecream.yumness! and yep there were penguins around so we have to give way to them. but they only come out in the night so we din get to see them

after the victor harbour trip, we went back to change and freshen up to have dinner at a chinese/viet/thai restaurant called Chopstix to celebrate Mingchien's 18th birthday. He's a singaporean boy who is doing his first yr in uni. he must be the youngest singaporean i met to do uni at sucha young age. he managed to defer his NS till after his degree. and mingchien is the most patriotic singaporean i ever met and a big part of what he talks bout is politics. He's our little brother in the group.

reynor, mingchien and me. alas this is the only picture i took with him beside me and the specs blocked his eyes. hai. and reynor is the bravest asian i have seen in adelaide because he dare to talk to drunk aborigines and even made friends and hug them! he is our hero.

me, kim and sylvia/yii, me and vivian/me and sujun/me and kim

happy company

the food was not that disappointing even though fusion, to me is still considered a very bad idea.

sparklers that was leftover from kim's 21st bday party. although its a cliche thing, but it nv fails to put a smile on the birthday person doesn't it?
after that we decide to walk to our campus to take escort back home. we then realised how pretty the parade boulevard was, with lights on the bottom of the seats. v romantic. and we decided to take some artistic pictures. there's still more in yiwei's camera

and then it concludes the night. but then the stupid security din allow us to take escort because she said we were out partying and we walked back home. by the time it was about like 2am alrdy. and there was the city to bay fun run 12km on the next day.
we woke up at 6 and massed up at the torrens river. i never seen so many angmohs in my whole life. there were bout 24000 walkers and 5000 runners. fun. along the 12km run/walk there were bands playing music and people taking out beach chairs sitting in their front lawns using their hose to spray water to cool us down and cheering us on. and people dress up as hawaiian hula babes and baddies in power rangers as well. nice. shall upload those pics once i get it from vivian.
and i thought we will never make it to the finishing line. amazingly we did. i am so proud of it. i actually walk/run 12km. one small step for mankind one huge step for me! if the weather and the shark nets allow it, i am going to do a 8km swim soon in glenelg beach woohoo.
and today i stayed home to study for my theory driving test and went for aerobics as well. aerobics rock when theres techno style madonna in the background. but the music was soo explosive that one of the speakers caught on fire literally. quite funny.
going to have a pancake buffet and iceskating session tmr.
i heart spring break!
