come to think of it, i should really update my blog frequently, but seriously there's nothing really interesting to talk about.

but i do need to note down one important and serious event that had just happened to me. so i am doing clinical every monday and what happened was on Monday the 21st of August was that its the first time i actually cut a patient accidentally. and he bled. yes. alot. just so you all know that scalpels are really meant to cut skin up, no jokes about that.

The patient was an old customer of the clinic, started seeing the university podiatry clinic from 1977. He was really calm about it, considering that blood was all over my gloves and i actually bloody handprint on the drawer hander when i took out some gauze from it. machiam murder scene. But he was nice bout it and actually consoled me. he told me that i am not the first one who accidentally cut him, there's this girl who cut him seven times. now, you got to admire his guts to visit a learning clinic for like almost 30yrs.

its a really freak-me-out incident but i learnt something about myself. i always thought of myself as a kancheong spider and someone who will just crash under any crisis. apparently, when the blood came out i thought i was pretty calm. at least i din go screaming and make the patient worry. one little step for mankind one big step for me heh heh.

and something i realise as well is that no matter how disgusting the patient's foot it, even though sometimes the toe nails fly up my hair and on my face, or when the patient has smelly fungal foot infection, or after the really confronting anatomy lab session or after pod lecture where my lecturer likes to make our monday mornings perfect by showing us really really unique pod cases, my appetite is never affected. i guess its the making of a great podiatrist wahaha.

and yes speaking of which we have this functional anatomy lessons where we have to locate muscles and bones on our partners and draw them out. i nearly kicked my partner's face when she use her multi colour highlighter to draw on my sole. i am a very ticklish person and i am too ticklish to wash the highlighter off my sole thus i took a picture.

fyi there's four layers of muscles in the sole of the foot and my partner did a bad drawing because i was squirming all about. And below is a picture of the real dead foot. pretty neat right hehe. i did a dissection of this from a nice whole feet for my anatomy project last sem. see all those small tendons and muscles, ya it was hard work.

and den our tutor come and check out drawings on our soles and he, and he...he says, no he exclaims that i have big feet. tmd. as if i dunno that myself.

i think i will be taking pictures of my clinic next week, with pictures of the tools i use and the types of dressing and blah blah. i can include those unique pictures of feet, those that spoil my monday mornings if you want, any strong disagreements?

on the last note, here is the tree of spring blossoms. i couldn't take more because the wind was getting soo strong it was blowing my hair away.

and this is a picture of the bird of paradise. I never knew why this flower was called the bird of paradise because they never looked like birds to me. but now i do. its so uncannilly(if there's sucha word) like a bird. when i was like a distance away from it i thought they were plastic birds decorating the bush. which comes to me wondering what's chinese for birds of paradise? izzit bai ling niao or something? reveal to me the ans shifu!
