on the lighter note, i shall post pictures on the places i went during easter hols.

I went cycling along this torrens river with some aussies and a big group of singaporeans and asians. Cycling in australia is definitely different. It is compulsory for us to wear helmets. And renting bikes here is free of charge for the first two hours, inclusive of helmets.

we then went to this river torrens, which we found out just to be beside our university and adelaide uni. Its really quite funny to discover such a gorgeous river 2 months after i came.

i present to u river torrens

i finally got my wish to le down on the grass and gaze at the passing clouds. it was wonderful.

the weather was so delightful so we took alot of stupid photos. we just sat and lie on the grass and talk about stuff back in singapore. I realise that ever since i came to aus, i started to appreciate things in singapore more. yes, even though singapore dun have gorgeous beaches or serene rivers or whatever, i miss the culture and the food and the people. singaporeans do have our own unique culture. i was actually v excited when they said we can view NDP in this special place in suburbs with all the singaporeans celebrating. yayness.

i guess we need to be away from that pot of culture and come in view with many other different cultures before we start to appreciate our unique-ness. the stuff we talk about, the singlish we use just makes me feel so homey(cos we dun use singlish to talk to aussies. they will just go 'scuse me all the way) the songs we sing, the news we discuss, for example ji ba ban song and news like who won campus superstar and where can we get hold of straits times here. i miss my roots. I cannot imagine migrating to some other place away from the place i grew up in. Travelling will be my limit.

besides i joined the singapore association here as well. we went to barossa valley on one of those days. well, adelaide can be really pretty in summer and autumn. and yesh, the wine is gooood.

we came to this place call Maggie's beer which funnily enough doesn't sell beer. it just this wooden house sitting along this river with loads of nice trees. u get to sip coffee and enjoy the river scenery

just beside this house is the river/exterior/river/nice tables they have

we then went to three wineries to taste wine. i think i am loving the wine here. its not like those dry ones i got to drink in singapore. the white wines esp, tasted so smooth. its like drinking air. i prefer late pick wines because they are sweeter, but sylvia and soojun likes spicy ones. so we kinda bought a set of sweet and spicy and we splited them. we are the perfect ppl to do that.

in peter lehman's wine cellar and we bought wine!!/wine tasting *hic hic*/romantic or not/me and soojun

then we went to jacob's creek, which is supposed to be a very famous winery internationally because i remember seeing wine labelled jacobs creek in cold storage. but trust me, peter lehman is so much better. but the scenery in jacobs creek rock. behind is just rows and rows of vine with adelaide hills in view. the weather was good that day, although there's this bloody wind

behold beauty!

Oops..

here goes.

last winery, we went to famous barossa as well. I love the rose gardens there. the wine there was also good.

last stop! we went to this huge dam which stops water flowing in into barossa region. it was uber cool because we were just standing between this deep river and a wide dry valley. kudos to the architect!

we were just standing on thie narrow bridge that separates the water and the valley. i thought it felt majestic. serene as well because u can view the vast and deep river and when no one speaks you feel as though u are the only one in the world. peace.

so this dam is also a whispering wall because someone can whisper at one end and on the other end we can hear perfectly clear. mingqian, our sole guy in the group sand ji ba ban to us through this whsipering wall

group pic with some malaysian medical students/whispersss/hearing mingqian's song at one end/ehh some peeps here i also dunno who they are.

i am so tired from uploading this pics...sleep pls embrace me.
