3 things shock me ytd and today. Eugene, my mum and a certain woman.

I went Weilun's place to play mahjong ytd night. It was fun. We went to have prata after that and talked about the feast on the 23rd. Our dear eugene was actually rather enthusiastic about helping, can you imagine? He wanted to help fry beehoon(???!!!). Then he got all excited and said he wanted to do sushi instead. Then he changed his mind and say he want to do mango pudding and go on a bout of talking how exactly to make really good mango pudding. I thought Martin Yan possessed him. But later he went back to reality and decided to get the drinks instead. Phew. But still, his enthu-ness shocked me. Maybe Eugene's gungho-ness was always there, just hidden. The festive mood in everyone unveils that zealous side of him. But even if for a very long time it remains hidden, I am sure we love him enough to try to let him win in mahjong :)

My mum was eating fish during dinner and suddenly announce that she's swallowed this really big fishbone. She tried taking it out herself but to no avail. My dad then went with her to our family doctor who says she can't see any bones and suggest that her to go A&E. Scared the shit out of us. She still called to tell us that maybe she's going for operation and she promises to let us see the fishbone.

After consulting the specialist who was specially paged to see my mum who used this v nice machine of his to check, he concludes my mum only have imaginary fishbones and ask whether there are anything else my mum wants him to remove, for example her tongue. $250 well spent. I always knew my father and mother is a little of a hypochondriac. But still, at least my mum's more assured now. I am amazed with my mum's nerves and all and how she really manages everything. She's cute in her own way. Can rival Shao's mum in senior citizen award.

Lastly, I am not a fan of America's Next Top Model, but I happen to see an episode of it on Channel 5 today. If this girl can be one of the finalists for Cycle 5, Kaiqi, you should never be ashamed of ur bushy brows. be proud and never go for threading again.
